Efforts of the MRC are channeled into the following five program areas.

Motor Systems Research
Develop new solutions for motor system problems. Advance the knowledge base for motor testing, applications and management by assisting with development of improved motor systems, testing and evaluating new motor technologies and applications.

Motor Specifications and Standards
Offer compliance assistance to motor manufacturers. Participate in ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency and performance of motor driven systems increasing the penetration of high efficiency motors (e.g. NEMA Premium).

Motor Systems Management
Assist motor users and their advisors to improve motor management with a goal of making motor systems increasingly productive, reliable and efficient.

Motor Systems Information
Prepare and distribute case studies, databases, software, other publications and tools to promote and facilitate the improvement of motor system productivity, reliability and efficiency.

Education
Identify and develop a network of colleges and universities providing accredited education and related, complementary real-world experience and research to equip the next generation of motor experts.
